Suspect released after 19 years in prison arrested for robbery

Colombo (News 1st): A 46-year-old man connected to a series of robberies and murders was arrested at Payagala. Police said the man was sentenced to death and remained in prison for 19 years and was released only three months ago following an appeal. He was arrested following an investigation over the theft of a motorcycle valued at over Rs. 200,000 from Moragahahena. A locally manufactured firearm, a 09 mm pistol and the stolen motorbike were seized by police.
