COLOMBO (News 1st) –  A person died as he was run over by a vehicle in Wekada, Weligama. The accident had occurred around 7 pm last night and the victim is identified as a 55-year-old resident of Midigama, Wekada. The driver and the vehicle had fled the scene.

Weligama police are conducting further investigations into the incident and no arrests have been made yet. Police noted that the remains of the deceased are currently lying at the Walana district hospital in Weligama.
