COLOMBO (News 1st) –  A fishing cat, an endangered species locally identified as Hadun Diviya, belonging to the Hungama, Kalamatiya sanctuary, in Hambanthota, was run over by a vehicle last evening.

The accident took place last night on the Hambanthota-Matara main road.

The wildlife officers who were informed by locals in this regard arrived at the scene and took the remains of the animal to the wildlife office.
