Bribery Commission to file charges against Dr K. Mahanama and P. Dissanayaka

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Bribery Commission informed court today(June 11), that it has concluded the investigations against former Presidential Chief of Staff Dr K. Mahanama and State Timber Corporation Chairman P. Dissanayaka for their role in soliciting a bribe over Rs 20mn. The two suspects who were arrested earlier, are currently out on bail. The Bribery Commission stated they will be filing charges against the two suspects when the case was taken up today before Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne. The suspects were arrested for soliciting a bribe over Rs.20mn to provide, buildings and other equipment of the Kantale Sugar Factory to an Indian Company.
