COLOMBO (News 1st) – Hotels Association of Sri Lanka conducted an awareness program on Counter Terrorism Security for hotels, in Colombo this morning(June 09).

Sanath Ukwatte, President of the Hotels Association of Sri Lanka noted that the tourism industry in Sri Lanka will recover in the near future. He added that the hotel industry should invest in staff training and to equip hotels with adequate security equipment to avoid any form of attack.

The first day of the episodic awareness programme educated the participants to identify potential threats and countermeasures which could be taken at a hotel to protect lives and property.
