Colombo (News 1st): Convening a media briefing, the Governor of the Southern Province Keerthi Tennakoon spoke about the parliamentary special committee inquiring into the 04/21 attacks.
He said the main actors of this parliamentary special committee are members of the national list appointed by the United National Front and people who are oblivious to the political agenda of the United National Party. He added that Sarath Fonseka is a person who obtained only 7000 votes and he came into the United National Party through the back door, using the national list.
Governor Tennakoon noted that Jayampathi Wickremeratne is a speaker who came to the limelight during the final phase of the movement for a just society and became a politician. If he had any idea about the United National Party or the Sama Samaja Party he would not be acting in such a manner.
He added that Ashu Marasinghe came into politics from the Bahujana Nidahas Permuna and became an actor of the United National Party and got into parliament through the national list. He said this has become a political project today and as a result of this political project, facts that affect national security are being revealed as if they are being discussed on Galle Face green.
He went onto note that they discuss it in the presence of the media and using it to achieve their own political goals and the fact that Sri Lanka does not have a proper policy on national security is being used by people to achieve their political goals.
