Conduct a full investigation on me: Former govenor Hizbullah

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Azath Salley and M L A M Hizbullah stepped down from their positions as governors in Western Province and Eastern Province respectively afternoon. The governors handed in their resignations to the President today (June 03). The President's Secretary Udaya Seneviratne said that the letters were accepted by the President. Following his resignation, M L A M Hizbullah shared his thoughts with the media. He said that both Azath Salley and he took the decision to step down from their offices after discussions with the president. He added that the president accepted their resignation. He went on to note that he had requested the president to conduct a full investigation on him and if he is guilty of any misconduct he would willingly accept the punishments ordered. M Hizbullah noted that despite his resignation from the governor's office he would continue his political career as a member of the SLFP.
