COLOMBO (News 1st) – One individual died after falling into the Polwathumodara river in close proximity to the Denipitiya bridge in Weligama.

Police stated the victim was a member of the Army attached to the Abhimansala Army camp in Kamburupitiya.

The deceased is a 27-year-old resident of Dehigahahena. The remains of the victim are currently at the Matara hospital. Investigations are underway into the incident.
