Special security systems for 18 prisons island wide

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Department of Prisons is to install special security devices to the prisons. Commissioner General of Prisons, T.M.J.W. Tennakoon said that the decision was taken in order to tackle illegal activities and ensure security within the prison walls. The security devices will be installed in 18 prisons including Boosa, Galle, Magazine, Dumbara and Kalutara where notorious criminals are housed. The estimated budget for the systems is Rs. 480 million.
