Around 100,000 people do not have a birth certificate

Colombo (News 1st): Registrar General's Department says that around 100,000 Sri Lankans do not have a birth certificate. Registrar General N.C. Vithanage said a program is in place to issue birth certificates immediately to such people. He added information is gathered at various levels and once the process is complete, the birth certificates will be issued free of charge.
