AG instructs Acting IGP to enforce traffic laws equally across the country

Colombo (News 1st): As a result of media reports and taking note of the evidence presented with regard to the non enforcement of traffic laws in the eastern province namely the violations such as non-usage of helmets by motorcyclists the Attorney General has instructed acting IGP C.D. Wickremeratne to ensure enforcement of traffic laws equally across the country. This was confirmed to News 1st by the Coordinating Officer to the Attorney General State Counsel Nishara Jayaratne. Yesterday (May 29) News 1st reported on the manner in which people travel in motorcycles in the eastern province without helmets.
