Colombo (News 1st): During a search operation carried out in a lake in Welamboda, Kandy, security forces discovered a stock of live ammunition.

The Welamboda police division and the special forces launched a search operation in the Kooradeniya Wewa in the Welamboda area this morning (May 29).

Navy divers were also used in the search operation. Fifty T56 bullets, 8 training bullets, 2 bullets, and a sword were found in the operation.

Batticaloa Search Operation 

A 6 kg claymore bomb has been found in a search operation that was carried out in Uppukarichchan, Batticaloa this morning.

The police said that the discovery was made based on the information of several employees of the Batticaloa Urban Council. The Sri Lanka Army bomb disposal unit diffused the bomb.
