Kotte Municipal Councillor Usman further detained

Colombo (News 1st): Kotte Municipal Councillor Haja Mohideen Ali Usman and three others, arrested for the possession of swords, knives, as well as CDs containing propaganda material of the IS terror group, were returned to Welikada Police detention by Colombo Additional Magistrate Kancha Neranjana de Silva today (May 29). The suspect is held under a 90-day detention order obtained from the Ministry of Defence and will be produced again in court on July 3rd for observations. Police informed court today, the Municipal Councillor has spent a massive amount on election activities and investigations are underway to ascertain how he amassed such an amount of money.
