Traffic lane law introduced across all main cities

Colombo (News 1st): Motor Traffic and Road Safety DIG Ajith Rohana said the traffic lane law introduced across all main cities in the country is a success. The Traffic Lane law which was only introduced to Colombo earlier was introduced to all other main cities from yesterday (May 27). Police will firmly enforce the traffic lane law after a two-week grace period given to motorists, especially for those driving heavy vehicles including buses. DIG Ajith Rohana said strict action will be enforced from June 10th  on traffic lane violators. Accordingly, passenger transport buses must only travel on the far-left lane which will be designated as a priority lane in Colombo and suburbs.
