Water shortage hits 1770 families in Welikanda and Dimbulagala

COLOMBO (News 1st): The residents of Welikanda and Dimbulagala divisional secretariats of the Polonnaruwa district have been affected by a severe water shortage due to the dry weather. The locals complain that they find it hard to carry out their routinal activities due to the shortages.

The statistics produced by the Divisional Secretariat office of these areas reveal that 5778 people in over 1770 families are affected. The Disaster Management Centre states that the dry weather has also affected over 300,000 people in the Northern province.
