COLOMBO (News 1st): The Podi-Menike train plying from Colombo to Badulla derailed between the Diyatalawa and Haputale railway stations.
The railway control room stated that the derailment had resulted in delays in the Udarata Menike scheduled to leave Colombo Fort at 8.30 am to 9.45 am and another train. A spokesperson for the control room added that a team from Nawalapitiya had put the derailed train back on track and measures are being taken to bring train operations on the upcountry line back to normalcy.
