Cut off marks for 2018 university applicants to be released

COLOMBO (News 1st): The University Grants Commission states that the cut off marks to enter universities based on the results of the advanced level examinations of 2018 will be released within the coming two months. Vice President of the Commission, Professor P. S. M. Gunaratne stated that over 70,000 students have applied for university entrance this year, however, the commission has decided to enrol 31,000 applicants for the year. Meanwhile, an issue has arisen with regard to several universities being shut down in the past few days due to the recent security issues in the country. The professor added that a decision in this regard will be made after carrying out discussions with the vice-chancellors of universities.
