COLOMBO (News 1st) – Residents of the Randiya Uyana apartment complex protested last night in front of a police post situated nearby. Residents complained that officers from the police post had assaulted a youth residing in the apartment complex at around 7 pm. A tense situation arose as the residents gathered near the police post.

Police media spokespersons office said that the police took action to turn away a number of motorcycles which caused much disturbance due to the honking of horns.

Police further stated that no person was arrested in connection to the incident.
