Six Sri Lankan fishermen arrested by Pakistan

COLOMBO (News 1st): A vessel carrying six Sri Lankan fishermen that illegally entered into Pakistan territorial waters was taken into custody by the Pakistan security forces. Assistant Director of the investigations unit of the Department of Fisheries, Padmapriya Tissera noted that Pakistan had officially notified the country of the matter. The vessel - "Ran Manika 03" had set out last month from the Mirissa fisheries harbour. Tissera noted that this was the first time Sri Lankan fishermen were arrested in Pakistan.
