Antonio Guterres calls for commitment to build world peace on Vesak day

Colombo (News 1st): UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres says everyone, Buddhists and non-Buddhists alike, can reflect and draw inspiration from Lord Buddha's birth, enlightenment, passing and teachings. Extending his best wishes to all celebrating Vesak, the UN chief said, “In a time of growing intolerance and inequality, the Buddha’s message of non-violence and service to others is more relevant than ever. He added, “On the day of Vesak, let us renew our commitment to building a world of peace and dignity for all.”
