Colombo (News 1st): Leader of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna Anura Kumara Dissanayake expressed these views at a seminar in Colombo today (May 15).
"National security was placed at the end of Ranil Wickremesinghe's agenda. I'm talking about the involvement of Ranil Wickremesinghe in the Central Bank issue. Maithripala Sirisena decided to immediately go to the Central Bank from Dimbulagala. Arjuna Mahendran was still the chief of the Central Bank when there was a problem. Ranil heard about the decision he made and he goes to the residence of Maithripala Sirisena. He then says that he is the subject minister and that it comes under his purview. He also says that it is not right to go to the Central Bank without him. After that, he met with Arjuna Mahendran and stayed with him at the entrance of the Central Bank to welcome the President. So the interest Ranil showed in getting involved with the Central Bank was not shown when he was not called for the security council. The security of the people is not even as significant as the dust we trample. That was the main reason why we were subjected to the attacks."
