- A Moulavi wanted by the security forces was arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport on his arrival.
- Although schools reopened for students from Grade 6 and above last Monday (May 6) only 10% of the total students attended school over the past week.
- The Navy opened fire at two vehicles which refused to comply and stop at a security checkpoint in Hunupitiya, Wattala. One driver died due to the shooting.
