Copper factory workers release : Interim report soon

Colombo (News 1st): Police Media Spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekara said the Police Special Investigation Unit's interim report on the release of 9 employees of a copper factory in Wellampitiya will be produced. He said disciplinary action will be taken against the personnel held responsible, no sooner the report is produced. The Special Investigation Unit of Police decided on May 9th to launch an investigation into the matter where the court granted bail to workers of the copper factory in Wellampitiya, believed to have been used to manufacture the explosives which were used in the April 21st attacks. It is believed that the factory belonged to the Cinnamon Grand suicide bomber, Mohammed Ibrahim Ilham Ahmed. Nine out of the 10 arrested suspects were released on bail.
