Colombo (News 1st): Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake today permitted the CID to obtain a blood sample from the 04-year-old daughter of Zahran Hashmi, the leader of the now-banned NTJ who carried out a suicide bomb attack on the Shangri-La Hotel, for a DNA test. The Magistrate ordered for a report to be called for on the clothing discovered from the Kollupitiya and Mount Lavinia residences of the suicide bombers and their families as well as the evidence recovered from the room at the Shangri-La Hotel where the suicide bombers spent their final hours. CID informed the court that the Gem and Jewellery Authority had provided a report on the gold and jewellery valued at over Rupees 12.5 million owned by the bombers and their families who are currently in custody. CID said measures were taken to confiscate the gold and jewellery. The CID produced a document with the testimony of 40 witnesses for the post-mortem of 36 people who died in the suicide bomb attack at the Shangri-La Hotel on April 21st.
