COLOMBO (News 1st) – The University Grants Commission said that measures have been launched to ensure safety at every university. The commission added that the police and tri-Forces have been deployed at every university across the island.
It was reported that every nook and corner of each university will be inspected thoroughly by the security personnel before the universities are to resume their academic activities.
The University Grants Commission further noted that the students will be informed of the date of recommencement based on the report issued by the security forces.
Additionally, the commission has issued instructions to students to follow after the reopening of the universities and other higher education institutions.
Among these instructions, the scholars are advised to keep their student IDs in possession at all times and assist security personnel in inspecting their baggage and vehicles before entering the university premises.
