COLOMBO (News 1st) –  The Sri Lanka Navy along with Ministry of Environment in the Southern Province organized a programme to clean the area surrounding the Gin Ganga yesterday(April 29).

The cleaning was carried out near the Wakwella bridge and Mulkada bridges.

Keerthi Tennakoon, Governor of Southern Province noted that the bridges were strewn with garbage and were under the potential threat of floods. He added that the manner in which the garbage was disposed of had polluted the locations.
