COLOMBO (News 1st) Security analyst, retired Lt. Colonel Susantha Seneviratne shared his opinion on the discovery of gas masks at the blast site in Saindaramathu.
He noted that the terrorists could have used it to manufacture bombs rather than devising a bio attack. He supported his opinion referring to the history of ISIS attacks. ISIS never used bio attacks in their attacks carried out in 20 countries. Their attacks were mostly suicide attacks while the rest were ramming vehicles into crowds, blade attacks and gunning down the general public.
The analyst finally commented that they are not inclined to devise chemical/bio attacks as they have no control over the casualties and it would wipe out their own.
