COLOMBO (News 1st): Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa has spoken to CNN News18 regarding the recent terror attacks in Sri Lanka. Speaking on the way the matter was handled in the political arena, the former President said; "Everybody is playing politics. As far as I know, the law is there. And they can act." When questioned by the journalist, on what he (MR) would tell the Indian leaders and people at this time, the former President stated that India has helped Sri Lanka during the 30 years of war, and has come forward to help even in the current situation. However, the former President also added that Sri Lanka can tackle terrorism on its own. "We don't have to bring any foreign soldiers or any groups like that. Sri Lankans can handle this because they have handled a war that lasted for the last 30 years. They have experience. Only thing is the government must act on this."
