COLOMBO (News 1st) – A special transport plan is underway following the Easter Sunday terror attack. Chief of Operations at the Sri Lanka Transport Board Nihal Hidelearachchi stated that all bus drivers and conductors were instructed on the security rules.
Nihal Hidelearachchi warned the people to be cautious about the person who sits next to them in the bus and that they should not keep any luggage unattended. He further said that is a suspicious person comes on board they should inform the Sri Lankan army or Police.
Railway Protection Force Superintendent Anura Premaratne stated that they have temporarily suspended transporting goods on trains and that passengers are thoroughly checked before boarding the train.
President of the All Island Private Bus Owners Association Gemunu Wijeratne stated that bags should not be kept in the rack and that it should be kept with the owner.
