Colombo (News 1st):  Senior Administrative official Thusitha P. Wanigasinghe has been appointed as the Acting Defence Secretary.

He earlier served as an Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Defence. Wanigasinghe who joined the SLAS in 1991 is a graduate of the Kelaniya University.

He has served in the capacity of Divisional Secretary at a number of locations and had also served as the District Secretary of Kegalle and Ampara.
