UPDATE: Govt. urge public to not panic over false information

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Government of Sri Lanka has requested those reporting on the current state of affairs related to terrorism and security measures to refer to material that is confirmed and provided by the Police Media Spokesperson, Spokespersons for the Tri-force and the Department of Government Information. The notice issued by the Department of Government Information states that the spreading of false information and the unrest which followed has hampered the operations of security forces. The government urges the public to not panic based on unverified information from sources that are not credible.
