Colombo (News1st) - Former STF Chief, Former DIG Nimal Lewke appearing on the Newsline program shared his expert views on the terror group that carried out the Easter Sunday attacks. He noted that based on the information that has been revealed at present, it clearly shows that they have received significant financial backing. Lewke added that coordinating such an attack with multiple explosions is not an easy task to coordinate and went onto note that the explosives used in the attack was TATP, used commonly by the Al Qaeda. TATP or Tri-cyclic Acetone Peroxide according to Lewke is much more potent than TNT. He added that the usage of this explosive allowed a single bomber to create such carnage at a single location.
