Colombo (News 1st): The Government Medical Officers Association has called for legal action to be taken against Dr Rukshan Bellana, a former official of the National Blood Transfusion Service for allegedly threatening a witness in a case against the authority.

In a complaint filed with the Presidential Commission investigating state sector corruption over the past 04 years, the GMOA insisted that protection must be provided to witnesses of these cases.

The Presidential Commission upon being notified regarding the threats had previously instructed police protection to be provided to the witness.
