Chairman of SLBA Dian Gomes elected to the executive committee of ASBC

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Chairman of Sri Lanka's Boxing Association Dian Gomes, has been elected to the executive committee of the Asian Boxing Confederation. The most important part of the ASBC General Assembly, the ASBC Elections for the Vice-Presidency and the ASBC Executive Committee memberships was held in the Grand Fourwings Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand yesterday (April 17). The reports note that 36 representatives from 17 nations voted at the election and Yousuf Ali Al-Kazim of Qatar was elected as the new president of the Asian Boxing Confederation. Additionally, ten members were elected to the executive committee and the 8th slot was won by the Chairman of Sri Lanka's Boxing federation Dian Gomes. Dian Gomes who has rendered yeoman service to the sport of boxing in Sri Lanka over the years is a past pupil of Royal College, Colombo.
