Old couple killed with sharp weapons in Matale

COLOMBO (News 1st) -  A number of homicides were reported throughout the country. Matale A double homicide using sharp weapons was reported from Matale. The police suspect it was the result of a personal dispute. The deceased are a couple, 53 and 51 years. The postmortem is today(April 16) and in the meantime, the Galwela police are conducting further investigations. Anuradhapura A dispute between two groups at a gambling site in Ipalogama resulted in one death and 22 injured individuals. The deceased was a 62-year-old. The injured were taken to the Anuradhapura Teaching hospital for treatment. Further investigations are underway. Hingurakgoda A woman was murdered in Jayanthipura, Hingurakgoda yesterday(April 15). The police suspect that the husband of the deceased killed her due to a domestic dispute. The deceased was a 25-year-old mother of one. The spouse of the deceased has been arrested.
