Colombo (News 1st): Following the Aluth Sahal Mangalya at the Tissamaharama Rajamaha Viharaya, MP Mahinda Amaraweera responded to the questions raised by the journalists.
When questioned if he sees the discussion with the SLPP as a failure, he noted that it cannot be seen as a failure as there will be another discussion on the 10th. He noted that the objective of these discussions is to succeed by combining two political parties.
Journalists then questioned; "both groups expressed various opinions regarding the discussions that are currently taking place and MP Dayasiri Jayasekara expresses one view while G.L Peiris from the Podujana Peramuna expresses another."
MP Amaraweera agreed and noted that in fact, these opinions are a hindrance to these discussions. In his view, he noted the statement made by former minister G.L. Peiris is a disturbance to these discussions, however, they must act patiently as he is not a politician anymore, he can state anything.
The parliamentarian noted that if they join hands they can win, and if they fail to join hands, there is a possibility of them losing.
