Skin diseases increase due to prevalent heat

Colombo (News 1st): Health sectors warn of an increase in skin diseases due to the prevalent extreme heat in the country. Director General of Health Dr. Anil Jasinghe said being exposed to the extreme heat could cause an increase in perspiration, and this may cause various skin diseases. Dr. Anil Jasinghe added that consuming a lot of water, bathing at least two times a day and staying under the shade whenever possible are some precautions that can be taken to reduce the risk of skin diseases. Meanwhile, the Met Department says, the prevailing extreme heat conditions are expected to continue until late May.
