Colombo (News 1st) – Government Nursing Officers Association states that there will be strikes today at several hospitals including the National Hospital and the Eye Hospital.
Its Chairman of the Nurses Union Ven. Muruththettuwe Ananda thero said the strike was over a number of issues including the failure to increase the salary of the nursing staff, and delays in providing promotions.
When News 1st inquired about this the Director of the Eye Hospital stated that they will be providing hospital services.
Accordingly, the clinics, as well as the OPD, will be operating today.
