Colombo (News 1st): G.G. Rashmi Nimesha Gunawardena is a 16-year-old girl who from day one faced an obstacle race. This differently abled young girl has shown many of us that, no matter what, if you have determination and self-assurance one can achieve anything in life. In 2012 she faced the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination and was the only student who passed the examination from the Dehiowita Haloluwa Junior School. This was marked as a milestone in her life. Challenging obstacles after obstacle in life, Rashmi proved her determination when she brought glory to the nation by winning the Super Challenge Gold Medal at the Global Technology Challenge tournament which was held recently in Vietnam. The next challenge in her life was G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination. She sat for the examination in 2018 and without a doubt passed with flying colours. She proved herself once again with eight A passes and a B pass. This young girl is an inspiration, example for many of us. She proved to the world that nothing can stop you from pursuing your goals.
