UNDERWORLD CLEAN UP : "Peraamulla Sameera" arrested in Wattala

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Special Task Force arrested four underworld members including Maduranga Fernando aka "Peraamulla Sameera" in Hendala, Wattala. The police noted that the suspects are henchmen of underworld leader "Kimbula-ele Guna". Extensive questioning led to the revelation that the suspects provided firearms to the gunmen who shot and killed two individuals travelling in a car in Hekitta, Wattala on January 13th. According to STF, the raid to arrest "Peraamulle Sameera" and other suspects commenced based on a tip received. "Peraamulle Sameera" was a wanted criminal for multiple homicides and thefts. The STF further noted that the suspects were arrested while they were travelling in a van and following the inspection 110grams of heroin were discovered. Additionally, five mobile phones and Rs. 25,890 in cash which the STF believes to be stolen was found in the van. The suspects had been handed over to the Police Organised Crimes Division.
