Prisoner exchange agreement between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Sri Lanka and Afghanistan are to consider entering a prisoner exchange agreement to benefit both countries. This was after a meeting between Minister of Justice and Prison Reform Thalatha Athukorale and Afghanistan Ambassador to Sri Lanka Ashraf Haidari. The Afghan Ambassador commended how the Afghan prisoners are treated in Sri Lanka. Preliminary discussions were held with regard to signing an agreement for a prisoner exchange between the two countries in the future.
