Colombo (News 1st): A debate arose in parliament today with regard to the ratings of media organizations in Sri Lanka. UPFA MP Lasantha Alagiyawanna said that there is a mafia involved with the rating system. He pointed out that the rating is decided on the viewership of a limited amount of people.

Therefore, he states that this rating system is not something that the general public can agree upon. He further reiterates that unless the goverment intervenes certain media networks would use these rating to their advantage.
