Police Traffic Campaign : Legal action against 1321 drunk drivers

Colombo (News 1st): Sri Lanka police filed legal action against 29,275 drivers for various traffic-related offences in a special 06-day operation. There were 1321 drunk drivers among them. Police Spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekera said the operation was from March 14th to 19th. Here's a breakdown of the action taken by Police :

• 3427 drivers nabbed for violating lane markings
• 6830 drivers for parking their vehicles on busy streets
• 17,652 drivers for other traffic offences

SP Ruwan Gunasekera said this special operation will continue until the end of the April holiday season.
