Thomians and Royalists record wins at inter-school rugby encounters

Colombo (News 1st): St. Thomas' College, Mt. Lavinia and Royal College, Colombo recorded close wins in their inter-School rugby encounters. St. Thomas' College pulled off a hard fought 22 points to 17 win against Kingswood College, Kandy in their week 3 clash of the Inter-School Rugby League at the STC Big Club Grounds yesterday (March 18). St. Thomas' was struggling in the opening half and went into half time trailing 12-8. However, the Thomians came back strong in the 2nd half scoring 14 points against Kingswood's 5 points. Meanwhile, Royal College recorded a close 24 points to 19 win against Wesley College at the Royal Complex last Sunday (March 17). Royal went into half time with a 12 - 5 lead. At one point Royal was leading 24 - 5 but the last moment comeback by Wesley saw them score 2 tries back to back. The Royalists held on till the last minute and prevented Wesley's 14-year long wait for a win against Royal.
