Government teacher transfers politicized - Ceylon Teachers' Union

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Ceylon Teachers' Union charge that the process of transferring teachers in government schools have been heavily politicized. Secretary of the Ceylon Teachers' Union Joseph Starlin said that the ministry is currently transferring teachers without even convening the teacher transfer board. When News 1st made an inquiry on the matter from the Secretary to the Ministry of Education Padmasiri Jayamanne, who said that he had already discussed the matter with the teacher unions over the phone. The secretary further said that a proper solution will be given.
