Farmers protest in Anuradhapura

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A group of farmers are currently engaging in a protest demanding a price formula for paddy.
The protestors are obstructing the Anuradhapura - Kandy main road at Eppawala junction.
The farmers claim that despite their prosperous harvest this season they are not offered a reasonable price for their harvest.
Heavy traffic congestion was reported from the area.
