COLOMBO (News 1st) – Five persons were arrested by the Kalutara Divisional Crimes Unit. They are suspected of being involved in the recent gem heist that took place recently in Kalutara North.

The Police media unit stated that to their amazement a Mongolian woman was among the suspects.

Police added three gemstones, a vehicle, Rs.50,000 in cash and a cheque for Rs 700,000 were seized from the possession of the suspects.

Gems worth Rs. 6.5mn were stolen from a hotel in Kalutara on February 25th.
