JVP Provincial councilor attacked by unknown clan

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A group of unidentified people has reportedly attacked a JVP councillor of the Thirappane Provincial Council. JVP Provincial councillor Rohana Wijethilaka was attacked at around 10.00 pm last night (March 09) near his residence. He is currently receiving treatment at the ICU of the Anuradhapura teaching hospital. Our News 1st correspondent noted that he is not in a criticial condition. The Kekirawa police have launched an investigation.
