Women-only compartments for 7 trains

Colombo (News 1st): The Department of Railways today (March 8) launched a train compartment service designated for women. The women-only compartments launch today is in conjunction with the World Women's Day. Minister Arjuna Ranatunga said a women-only compartment will be introduced for 7 trains and it will be allocated for office trains as well. Speaking on female representation, MP Hirunika Premachandra said at present Sri Lanka has more than 100 women in active politics which is a remarkable achievement.
