Fines for archaeological crimes to increase

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Cabinet approval has been granted to increase fines from those that commit archaeological related crimes. Director General of Archeology Professor P. B. Mandawala says that the fines were increased as per a proposal submitted by Minister Sajith Premadasa. Thereby the minimum fine will be increased from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 500,000.00.
